TIP SHEETS, FILLABLE FORMS, AND flyers
I currently perform production and design tasks with Kaiser Permanente’s Health Engagement Consulting Services (HECS). I use icons where possible to help guide the reader. Simple use of color so their is no distraction from primary message.
Example 1 - TIP SHEET
Feeding Your Toddler–Created a bright introduction element with quote to entice reader and focus the eye. Table on B-side repeats yellow color and uses icons to tell reader immediately what topic is in graphical form. Our brains still respond to visual elements first.

Example 3 - TIP SHEET
Colonoscopy Preparation: Color is kept to a minimum (two colors), orange color guides the eye along to main topics. Information imported as a table from MS Word, cell borders removed, and shading is used instead to subtly define sections of text. Cell borders, when used, are thicker at the perimeter to help quickly define boundaries, interior cell weights are thinnest to reduce monotony of too many lines.
